I have presented a complete system for scanning, modeling, and displaying colored 3D objects.

This work contains the following main contributions:

We have implemented a working range and color scanner, as well as adapted spacetime analysis to our system for improved results.

We have introduced a new method for determining point correspondences for registration that leads to faster convergence. We have also restructured multiview registration so it becomes faster and less likely to get stuck into local minima.

We have developed a fast hierarchical space carving method to determine the topological type of the object and to obtain an approximate surface model.

We have developed two methods for view-dependent texturing and display of reconstructed surfaces of colored objects.
