We spent the day of 1/6 in Schwangau, visiting die Königsschlösser (the king's castles) Neuschwanstein (King Ludwig II's most famous castle; built during 1869-1886) and Hohenschwangau (summer residence of King Maximilian II; built by 1523, but restored 1833). The evening was spent resting at our inn, giving Toli some time to recover from a bout of the runs (took a couple of days, but it wasn't too bad).
