Early on 1/2, we left Brugge and headed for Ypres via Gent. Gent, much like Brugge, is a medieval town, though here the old and the modern are less clearly delineated than in Brugge. We just walked around the town center.

Amusing "gargoyles" atop a city building. At first sight, Toli thought they were balancing on one leg or an arm, and was impressed that they could be so stable; upon closer examination, it looks like an extra rod connects the body of each figure to the stand. Poopycakes!
