But we don't always get the best results by simply adding the wavelets back in the reverse order. Here we have a polygon with uneven distribution of the vertices. The image on the bottom left shows the result after all but the finest level wavelets have been added back.
We have taken a different approach in the image on the bottom right. Here we add the wavelets back based on their magnitude. Big wavelets corresponding to large features are added first. Although adding wavelets back out of order is a bit more complicated, the results are clearly better.
