Gesture Blackjack Russ Allbery and Jeff Townsend Project Description The goal of this project is to create a blackjack game controlled by a gesture interface. The gesture interface we are planning on using is the DataGlove, which detects the bend in the fingers of the wearer's hand. The game should support the features of standard blackjack, including betting (using poker chips), splitting, doubling down, and insurance, and the computer will serve as the dealer. The gesture vocabulary will be simple. Our initial working guess is that five gestures will be needed -- hold, hit me, bet, split, and double down. Some flexibility in the bet gesture to allow for betting multiple chips at once would be good. Additional Benefits As part of this project, our first goal will be to get the DataGlove set up, working, and tested. We also plan to try to document the DataGlove library (and wrap it in a C++ class) to make it easier to work with.
